I chose this picture for balance because the tall building and the pile of building parts on the side balance each other out. I think this element draws my attention the the smaller subjects in the bottom of the photo.

I chose this picture for merger because the main subject is about the same color as the background and foreground. If the photographer took this picture with more contrasting colors, it would bring more emphasis to the main subject.
