Africa

1. My first reaction to what I read and saw was sadness. I think the photographer did a really good job of capturing the emotion of the picture by emphasizing the animals. I think that the topic of animal habitat loss and endangerment is a really significant topic because it will affect us, other living things and beautiful landscapes. It's really cool that a Nick Brandt went out and captured the sad, important topic and creating amazing photos out of it to spread awareness. He also wanted to capture the animals living their life and emphasize the beauty of them. He wanted to capture their spirits.

2.
3. This was my favorite picture by Nick Brandt because I think it captured the sadness of animals losing their habitats to humans. The innocent giraffe is unproblematic while the humans are destroying its habitat. it also showed the relationship between humans and the animals of Africa.

4. Rules represented by this photo is the rule of thirds. Both the giraffe and the people are put on the right and left of the photo. Leading lines is also used because of the lines in the background that draw attention to the subjects.

5. He does not use a telephoto lens which allows you to get close to a subject even though they are far away. He goes up close and uses a standard lens that does not specialize in taking pictures from far away. He did this to capture the animal's spirits and features.

6. His reason for taking these photos is to capture the animals in their natural habitat before humans destroy it. He also did it to capture the spirits of the animals.

7. His hope is to protect ecosystems and save animals and their habitats.

8. "My images are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes. "

9. His newest focus with his photography is to capture the environmental affects of destroying habitats and spread awareness.

10. to create this he took pictures of the animals and then put them on large boards of plywood. He put them on the cite of the destroyed land so people could see how the animal once loved but now can't because of its lost habitat.

11. I think his work might move people to not destroy the animal's habitats and spread the idea of not destroying the land for human use.

12. These new pictures make me feel sad and angry and makes me feel empathetic for the animals.
