I picked this photo because of the story behind it. It caught my eye because of the astronaut. This photo was taken in space. It is a photo of an American astronaut on the surface of the moon. I learned this was a photo of buzz aldrin who was on the Apollo 11 mission. It was also taken by Apollo 11 commander, Neil Armstrong. He is a well-known astronaut. He was born on August 5, 1930. He was born in Wapakoneta Ohio. He went to the University of Southern California and Perdue. Another picture by him is: I picked this photo because it had historical importance. It caught my eye because it looked old fashioned. In the photo, a sailor is kissing a nurse in a city square. This was taken the day the world war 2 ended. I learned it was taken the day Japan surrendered to the U.S. I also learned it was published in Times Magazine and that was how it got to be so famous. This photo was taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt. He lived December 6, 1898-August 23, 1995. he was born in West Prussia.
