Ekrot has been working on getting this award for months of the semester by doing her work and volunteering.

"I feel like it a really big honor to win," said Ekrot" and it will help me apply to colleges and help my future. "

Along ekrots way to this award she always had the support from her teachers and parents.

"Alli always worked very hard," Said Susan Williams, Ekrots Geometry teacher. "She is always focused in my class and when she makes a mistake she always tries her best to understand what she did wrong. "

As a student in a large school of about three thousand highschoolers, winning this award can be challenging. Ekrot explains how to make this award possible.

"I would say to devote your time to doing well in school and when your out of school," said Ekrot. "put energy into helping people."

This award comes with many challenges such as large amounts of schoolwork and long hours volunteering or being part of clubs.

"The most challenging part was always staying motivated to do my schoolwork even if I didn't want to but I knew that I should," Said Ekrot.

Colleges look for students with good grades and who are very involved with extracurriculars.

"I think that being able to put this award on applications for jobs and colleges will help my chances of getting into them," Said Ekrot.

Faculty first introduced this award as a way for students to be motivated to get good grades and be more involved. The award has been known to create both positive and negative effects on the student body.

"I think it is good so people will work harder and have a goal to do their best," Said Ekrot "but also there is the downside that people would get jealous or sad."

Her Family supported her lots throughout her school year. Her mother, Maddison Ekrot, Her Father, Alan Ekrot, and her two brothers, Josh and Alex Ekrot all helped her achieve her goals with homework help and lots of encouragement.

"I am so proud of Alli," said Alan. "it's so great to see her put in all this work and get something out of it in the end, she deserves it."
