Merger

Image
I chose this picture for merger because the main subject is about the same color as the background and foreground. If the photographer took this picture with more contrasting colors, it would bring more emphasis to the main subject.

Framing

Image
I chose this picture for framing because the windows frame the fireman climbing on the ladder. The colors of the frame, and the color of the background of the subject are contrasting which brings even more emphasis.

Balance

Image
I chose this picture for balance because the tall building and the pile of building parts on the side balance each other out. I think this element draws my attention the the smaller subjects in the bottom of the photo.

Line

Image
I chose this picture for line because the gravestones form lines, drawing attention to the subject. Some of the lines of gravestones are diagonal making the photo more dynamic.

Rule of Thirds

Image
I chose this picture for rule of thirds because the photographer did a good job of putting the subject in the left side of the photo rather than the middle. This element draws emphasis to the person looking over the city, mourning about the 9//11 on the anniversary.

Simplicity

Image
I chose this picture for simplicity because the subject is very prominent. There is no busy background and the camera is focused only on the man. This use of simplicity draws emphasis to to the emotion, heartbreak, and disaster of the picture.

The Camera

History of the Camera 1. Joseph Nicephore niepce 2. A sheet of silver plated copper 3. landscape photography 4. Shutter speed, ISO, aperture Metering 5. Matrix, center, and spot metering 6. When you are taking a headshot or a picture of something close when the sun is behind 7. small objects, ex: birds Camera Modes 8. program mode, shutter priority mode, aperture priority mode and manual mode 9. In shutter priority mode the camera automatically sets up the shutter speed and has you manually set the aperture, while in aperture priority mode it is the opposite Focus 10. Auto focus is fast and easy because you press a button and it adjusts the lens's focus. In manual is takes longer to focus the camera and it makes precise adjustments 11. Autofocus because it's fast and convenient Flash 12. When the environment is poorly lit 13. On very sunny days and when your subject is backlit Video 14. It keeps your camera still which looks more professional 15. Manual

I liked the photo of the stairs because I think the perspective you get in the photo is interesting. I thought it had movement. One thing I disliked about the photo I took is that the subject wasn't super interesting. One thing I liked about the photo with people is that it shows emotion and it complies to rule of thirds. To make it better I could have picked a more interesting background or picked a background that didn't distract from the main subject.
